Cart goals
A cart-goals campaign rewards a shopper as their whole cart grows, instead of one product’s quantity — a progress bar toward “spend $50, get 10% off” or “spend $100, get free shipping”.
Levels
Section titled “Levels”A level unlocks by Minimum quantity (units of the eligible items, any mix) or Minimum amount (their subtotal, before other discounts) — you pick one basis for the whole campaign under Discount rules. Unlike quantity breaks and Buy X get Y, a cart goal always counts every eligible item together as one total; there’s no per-product or per-variant counting choice.
Only the highest level a cart reaches applies at a time; levels never stack. You can add up to 10 levels.
Rewards
Section titled “Rewards”Every level needs at least one of these four, and you can combine more than one on the same level:
| Reward | What it does |
|---|---|
| Order discount | A percentage or amount off the whole cart subtotal. |
| Shipping | Free shipping, an amount off, or a fixed shipping price. Can be restricted to selected shipping countries — see below. |
| Discount on eligible items | A percent, amount, or fixed-price discount on the items counted toward the goal. |
| Cross products | Other products, free or discounted. Cap the units per product, or leave it blank to discount every unit of that product already in the cart. The shopper has to add the product themselves — the app never adds it to the cart automatically. |
The shipping-country restriction
Section titled “The shipping-country restriction”The free-shipping reward has its own country setting, separate from the campaign’s general country targeting (see Targeting): by default it applies to all countries, or you can restrict it to a list of selected countries so the reward only applies for the shipping destinations you choose. This is set per level, since different levels can offer different shipping rewards.
The widget
Section titled “The widget”A cart goal can show in two places:
- The product page — an optional widget on every product that counts toward the levels, showing the levels and the cart’s live progress. If the same product also carries a quantity-breaks or Buy X get Y campaign, that widget shows instead.
- The cart page and drawer — a progress bar, by default just above the checkout button (or at the top of the cart instead), showing the next level and what’s left to reach it. Reached levels can get a check mark and a short celebration message.
You can turn either surface off. Turning off the product-page widget removes it entirely; turning off the cart progress bar still leaves a short message line under the cart items.
See Buy X get Y for rewarding a single product’s own quantity instead of the whole cart, and Scheduling and status for when a level goes live.
